Just got done painting it myself. Took three tries and still not totally happy but tired of trying. I hope I can buff it and get that shine I think it ought to have.

I thought I'd toss this one in.

It is a former IHRA B-modified drag car. It was taken off the street and turned into a race car in 1971, and was campaigned through the late 70s. The front end is all fiberglass except for the front bumper. It only has about 30K miles on it, and is still wearing the 1971 paint. It was initially campaigned with a Ram II, 4-spd, and Dana rear. The engine was later upgraded with Ram IV heads.

The rear end was upgraded to a 9" Ford unit utilizing ladder bars with coil-overs. The engine is now a 502 Chevy, and it runs a TH400 trans with a trans-brake.

Talking My First Car

This is my '68 Firebird convertible I purchased in Feb 1978 as my first car. Since I was senior in HS my Dad couldn't believe I bought a 10 year old car with 80k miles as this is when cars begin to fall apart and I would be going away to college the following year!!!

Well now it didn't exactly look like this in '78! This photo is representative of a 1987 - 1993 frame off restification. This car has never left my possession, but many others have come and gone!!!
