Default 67 GTO console

Anyone tried any repop vinyl console insert sets out there, the one I ordered for the console lid,his/hers and console are WAY too dark, not even close to what's supposed to be on there. Any pics?

Thanks

I installed a set from AMES in 1993 and they were a near perfect match for the dash in my '67. But that was 27 years ago!

I have an older reproduction set REM G-022 available, I might have an original console piece to check the color / grain match.

I had bought the complete console insert kit from Ames and color was great. Bought the console lid as I could not find my original and the insert on that was way dark and terrible. I ended up peeling the insert off the console lid and using what I got with the complete console insert kit. Looks great now. Had to build a jig to get the console lid straight to fit it was twisted so bad from Ames.

yes that dark brown was on the lid when I got it from Ames. Ugly is right. I had also bought the wood insert that is premounted on the metal plate. Has the sticky on the back and ready to put on. Never had any luck on the woodgrain bot installed on the plate. I think you can buy the kit or individual pieces. Did the same with my dash front a few years ago and the match is good with that also.
