Default what lower quarter panel and wheel well opening are the same as 65 GP

I am about to start taking on a 65 GP which has a good bit of rot around the wheel wells and behind the rear wheel. I was hoping to find other quarters that could be used as donors to get the wheel arch at least. I assume the Catalina is the same wheel opening since I have seen skirts fit either. Finding 65 GP quarters or repair panels appears to be impossible.Thanks.

Default Try Franks

https://www.frankspontiacparts.com/u...iacpartsp2.htm

He has a quarter panel and a rear wheel well section for a ‘65.

Awesome - that is what I have been looking for. I have found inexpensive lower quarters for about everything but that specific 65 grand prix. Who makes or sells them?

Check out Cross Canada panels. They list lower quarters for a 65-66 Pontiac. These are not model specific. Will fit all except Bonneville. I have heard the wheel openings are not super accurate so may require metal work if you want to use your skirts.
I have a pair of outer wheelhouse sections I salvaged from a car years ago. Can send pictures if you are interested. Good luck.

Bill.

GP is the same as Catalina and even a Bonneville patch can be used on the lower section with some cutting to trim down the length but the wheel curves are exactly the same

Part numbers are: RRP3297 or 890-86BL for the driver side and RRP3298 or 890-86BR for the passenger side. Don't know why they quote two part numbers for each piece..

thanks - I thought I had looked there before. They do not show up when searching under the grand prix section, only the Catalina section. The price seems reasonable, but I bet the shipping will hurt!!! Maybe not terrible if I get both sides at once. I assume people here purchase from them regularly?

I bought what I think were similar quarter skins for a 68 and after they arrived it took about 2 seconds to decide they were two ill formed and thin to be of much use. Hopefully what you are looking at is much better.

I think it may cost you a bit more up front for some cut patches from a junk yard, but the long term result will be more than worth it.

I'd keep looking if it were me.

That’s why I mentioned Franks. Nothing is better than original. Second best would be to form your own patches from scratch. JMO.
