Default 66 Tilt horn cartridge

After having my power steering restored and finding the correct centerlink I needed to correctly position my steering wheel. In doing so I found the horn button sold by our host appears to be too short to work properly with my tilt column. ( had not been working, another project I kept meaning to address)

The one shown in service manual seems longer that the one sold by host, does anyone have a OEM one they could upload a picture?

When I install the one I got from Ames the horn does not work as it will not make contact with brass ring in column.

Has anyone used the cartridge from our host on a 66 tilt with deluxe wheel and it worked? Any installation tips? I will take pic of back of wheel with cancel cam attached

Default Solution!

Thanks to Peter Serio for the help in resolving this issue. I have posted pictures of the fix. I had to order the horn cartridge for 63-68 Corvette without telescoping wheel, it gave a longer brass plunger which allowed the horn contact to work with the deluxe wheel. I posted pictures of the shorter one versus the corvette I purchased. Also a picture of it installed.

Hopefully this will help anyone else with tilt wheel.

Thanks for posting the information. I have a 67 tilt to overhaul and that might be what I'll need for my own.
