1965 GTO Front & Rear Anti Sway Bar
Can anyone recommend a good brand anti sway bar (front & rear) for my 65 GTO Convertible. Which is better solid or tubular steel? thanks, Joe

I've never heard anything bad about any of the major companies' offerings.
I have a UMI in the front and PMT Fabrication in the rear. I didn't know they made tubular sway bars.

A 2nd geb Bird swaybar fits the front and is 1-1/4" from a TA.

Get the conversion kit that turns your original rear control arms into internal braced '70 up style rear control arms and send them to Glenn Lever.
He'll weld in the braces, powder coat them and install new control arm bushings. For a bar, the catalogs sell repro bars that match the bends in a GM rear bar. Go 1". |

pro-touring f-body has A-body sway bars, don't bother with a hollow bar they take up more room, expensive and aren't any stiffer than a stock bar.

I run a big 1 1/4 front with a 1" rear and Bilstein shocks. Never thought this 65 could handle this good.

I have an ADDCO 790 1-1/4" up front and an ADDCO 609 1" out back. I have tubular upper and lower control arms front and back and the 609 bar is made just for tubular or boxed rear control arms.
If you don't have boxed or tubular rear control arms, the ADDCO 939 kit includes the swaybar and reinforcement hardware to bolt it up. The bars are powder coated and include end links and poly bushings for the front. Nicely made and perfect fit on my '71 GTO. I got mine as a front & rear combo on eBay for $275 delivered. I went with Moog Springs and KYB shocks so my ride is firm but comfortable and the car handles like it's on rails. |

On my '70 I'm running Global West 1.25" front and 1" rear bars, both solid, in conjunction with BMR upper and lower tubular front arms, tall spindles, and PMT tubular arms in back. Also have the rear braces, Edelbrock shocks, Spohn rear shock mount relocators, Spohn heim-jointed front links, and urethane body mounts. HO Racing front springs, Global West rears. Zero body roll, rides like a truck on rough surfaces, but gives you a lot of confidence and predictability.
