Just took another look and it sure looks like it starts with a 3. You need this Ron for your 65.

Oh yeah. Friend of mine from Petersburg used to work there. I picked this piece up from a guy in Bath a few years ago. Was keeping if for my 62 Cat but when i sold it last Fall decided i no longer needed to keep it.

I have two of the things modded for later heads. The Intake will fit under the hood of a 64 GTO with AFBs. Mods required but a very cool intake for the average Chebby and Ford guy to "Wow" about at the car shows. I would be interested if I did not have the other intakes.

nice set up I know of a 62 Catalina with this set up sitting in a warehouse in Indiana, the car even has the M/T heads on it, but the guy will not sell it, he mentioned that he used to race it at US30 back in the day, and run 11:90s' all day, and yes it is an aluminum front end car, too bad he will not sell it, believe me I offered him my 71 GTO Judge all restored and still not interested, says he will be getting to it later in life, hell the guy is 70, how muck later in life?
Sorry had to vent...

Tom,
How the "H" did your manifolds get modified for 65 and later heads? That intake bolt that goes through the water crossover would be a major project, especially on the drivers side! Who did the mods? That manifold would sure have the WOW factor, for anyone that saw it.

Don't really need it?? But a lot of Pontiac # start with 9779. Chebby's on the other hand start with a 3. Surely someone knows the correct # for this intake?

The intake was done by Richard Cole, a long time Pontiac Firebird Fanatic, (who also happens to be one of McLaren Performance Racing's top fabricators). We did three Cross Ram Intakes at the time. Skip Fix bought Richard's personal Cross Ram. Richard has since made the Ultimate Cross Ram (with a larger Single Plenum, shortened runners, and custom linkage).

We took the stock intake and plugged the front of the manifold, Bill.
We then drilled the water openings in the correct spots and ported them. We then machined the front of the intake for the proper late bolt pattern. We added material to the bottom of the intake to match the late bolt pattern port floor location. We removed the individual bore hole pattern in the plenums (open plenum design). We added a boss on the front of the cross-over for the 65 Alternator Bracket reinforcement bar. We removed the excess ear material on the rear of the intake. We added a 1" balance tube to make the engine idle like a V-8 vs (2) I-4 engines. We made custom accelerator linkage and made a cut-out in the balance tube for the Primary Holley linkage to clear the balance tube. The intake was peened in a large drum with balls like you would clean ammo brass.

There were more mods but this covers most of them.

The Intake looks like a fresh M/T casting for a 65-up Engine.

The tribute "Weber" M/T Intake is even more cool.
