Default N2RacingV8's Formula Survives 280 Foot + Wheel Stand

We went to Darlington, SC on Saturday 2/12/11 and had a blast! Car ran its best ever NA run of 10.47 ET at 127.19 MPH on its fifth run of the day.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXET_vAGn6E

I then put the nitrous bottle in it and changed the tune. I had also installed a FJO controller that I was looking forward to playing with. I Locked down the front end and went up for a pass and came away with this video! Let me say right off that it was no fun and actually happened before I could even react!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5uiD_8FCAE

When the car came down it did not seem to land very hard and was still going straight so since I was on the gas as it was coming down I stayed in it and ran a 10.18 ET at 132.39 MPH! I went back to my pit and checked everything over. Marked the back bumper, front bumper and scraped the headers just a little bit. Everything looked OK so I went out and made another NA pass just to see how the car ran and it ran a 1.41 60' foot with a 10.63 ET at 125.24 MPH with the front end locked down. I did not run it to max RPM between shifts so it seems to be OK.

Thankfully the car was still going straight when it started coming back down to earth!! All I knew to do was push the go pedal through the floor to soften the landing!

It did not want to come down that is for sure! I had enough after the car stayed up after being in 3rd gear for a few seconds. The 1/8 mile time was 6.45 at 107.82 so it was a little nerve racking for sure! Still on the same engine / trans combo that I was running when I meet you at VMR for the Pontiac Shootout 2008! It has been a fun car.

That was an awesome wheelie. I had to replay it a few times. Love the shift while she's in the air.

It was a ride for sure! It jumped up so fast I grab the 1-2 shift at about 5,800 RPM's then when straight for the 2-3 shift in hopes it would start back down to earth but no luck! I hope to never do that again!! They say shift do not lift so I shifted until I had no more gears!

Thanks, we checked everything over and the car appears to be in good shape and we are ready to go!

I think I will pass on any future wheel standing competitions that one was enough for me!

I am pretty sure it was there today. I think if it would have stayed straight and I would have been dumb enough not to pedal it the car would have easily gone the 1/8 mile!!

I know what you mean, I lived through it and I still go back and watch to make sure it really happened.

Here are the time slips first one is my NA 10.47 pass. This is my best all motor pass to date and the second time slip is the wild nitrous pass. Also here is a cool photo the track owner took of my Formula leaving the line on the 10.47 pass!

Someone asked about my video from SGMP so I thought I would post it. Here is the video of my 9.92 run Saturday 12/11/10 at SGMP! The car stayed down and moved on down the track for sure!

I did not get into the 80's but it was sure fun trying for it!! The car produced several new PB on 125 HP dry nitrous shot with a DA of around +1,200. We had a very good trip for our last one of 2010. No doubt with a - DA it would run in the 80's on the 125 HP jets!

Enjoy - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxuJjpjNOW4
