Default 65 GTO 5.14 @ 134 Ultrastreet/275 (Video)

Saw Jeff's thread, thanks for the comments!! Car really woke up with a converter change...of course the mineshaft conditions helped too!! but I'll take all the help I can get!

Changes from Yb race (5.47@129) were 7.50 cage upgrade (more weight ), converter, scaled the car, bigger jets in carb, and put the new MT 275 pro drag radials on the car (Jeff Kinsler suggested that upgrade!!)...they look tiny..but I guess they work!

I want to thank Don (Top452) for loaning me his converter... I was pretty much done for the year, but wanted to try a converter before giving up on the glide (also borrowed!!) Looks like I'll keep the th400 on the shelf a bit longer....

Here's the 5.14

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92po...feature=vmdshb

and the 5.17

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBB2...feature=vmdshb

Ultrastreet will probably be out of control next year, but I had fun dabbling in it this year as it is only 30 miles from the house...

Man....you have some nice friends! LOL.

What do you have going on in the rear suspension department?

Thanks,
Tom Syron

Tom, I do have a few good friends left... Don and I have been buddies for over 15 years....he bought my old 65 car from me when I retired and swore I'd never race again......so maybe he owed me a favor? I don't know... I probably owe him one now!

The rear suspension is basic 9"/ladder bar/coilover/stock framerail mini-tub that was originally done by JP Racecars when Trettle owned the car back in 1995, I put new shocks and springs on them last year and that was about it..

Great pass, what converter are you now running, what is your rear gear.I run a glide as well and need to get a converter made for it.

Congrats on the pass. With the power your motor is making, you squeezed everything out of it. No inflated dyno numbers there.

Yes, single 4 Barrel cast intake, no race car sheetmetal intakes and two carbs. Its a "street type car"!

Congrats! Was this an actual US race? I thought if you were NA in US you were either on the old 3754 MT or the 28x10.5??? Didn't think they were allowing the new gen 275 MT tire to run.
