1970 1108435 starter
Ok, so I've long since gone off the deep end, and I figure that this is under the "no harm in trying" cata gory.
I am interested in acquiring a 1108435 numbered starter for my car. I only have one somewhat desirable starter in my little collection, it's a 1108495 starter with a 1J20 date code. To save on shipping, I am happy to simply receive the stamped/dated motor frame. Call me crazy if you will, but I am interested in getting one.

Might be dated a little early but it is a 1970 1108435 as you requested.

Thanks;
I actually found that one a while ago; It appears to have been relisted at least four times since I first came across it; Each re-listing was a couple bucks lower. It's only since I got back home from my nearly annual PDX trip, that I have been thinking about getting this piece corrected too; So I revisited the auction, and did another google search, then made this post. I really have no idea what these are worth, but am guessing that for what it is, and it's condition, he must be high if no one is buying; I'd wager that's a great part for an early '70 model year L78/L75 powered Grand Prix, Tempest, Lemans, or GTO; If I had an early '70 model year GTO, my OCD may have already gotten the better of me, but I have a June 1970 built Firebird... At one time, the date code meaned almost nothing to me - it was all about the correct application/casting number; Now that I understand date codes, I know that if I was to spend fair value (what ever that might be), I'm better off buying one dated correct, or saving that premium and buying a correct service replacement unit - because a premium paid for a part which is coded as being clearly too early for my car, is probably money I could better spend elsewhere... or put toards the next box of diapers (funny, but not funny) Also, I did get an email today from a member, who indicated he likely has one; I didn't give an offer on it, because quite honestly I don't know what one is worth, and I don't want to give an insulting offer. I really believe that to a point, what goes around comes around, so I don't want to seem to be a cheap jerk... hopefully that makes sense. Opinions on value would be appreciated.

maybe...
Have a huge stack of original application high torque 10MT Pontiac starters to haul over, many are from 70-73 Pontiac V8's.. Currently working on last of pallet racking, then (mid May) will be hauling over last of original water pump cores & high torque starters. NOTE, for those that read this: NO factory RA, HO, or SD starters in this stock, please don't ask.

so close - yet so far!!
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/1970-Pontiac...xd4pR~&vxp=mtr This one is dated June 29th 1970 (my car was built the first week of June), while alot closer to my cars build date than all the fall 1969 units I have seen so far, this one it a smidge too late! So my search continues. Merry Christmas everyone!

is that maybe a "0F22_1"? It looks like the top part of a first "2" is there infront of the full "2"

I'm also not dead set on getting this, but it's on the list of "things" I'd like to get, if I can justify the cost". I am interested; I believe that the only part(s) attached to the engine assembly after they arrive at the vehicle manufacturing plant was the carburetor and smaller accessories, so I believe that the starter should predate the carburetor by a long shot... My engine at this time has the following dated components: block: April 30th intake: May 14th heads: April 22 & 29 distributor: January 29 (might be a bit early, unsure) carburetor: March 10 transmission: December 30th (even though this might seem wrong, it's right in line) starter: (not OE correct)
