My car has a smith race craft front end with 1/4" motor and mid plates with trans bolted directly to trans crossmember no mount. No engine limiter. No issues.

I guess i was more worried about the load from the mount bracket on the side of the block than anything. My current set up is an old style Hurst engine mount that still bolts to side of block and comes forward and has an additional strap that comes up to the head. These pics arent mine but shows how it is installed. I run the front section solid to the frame.

I dont see where it would hurt to have limiters. I have run cars with and without. I have seen some bent up mid plates also. How well everything is constructed and where it mounts to the frame means allot
