Any idea what the potential for these is? All things equal ( experienced head porter ) would a high port head still be the better choice? I have looked at them due to the relatively lower cost.

A friend at our track has them on a awesome car. Has 2 sets. Tells me they are soft and he has head gasket issues if he pushes them. He is looking at the DCI RAV head to get away from head gasket issues.

All the port work in the world does you no good if they are soft. Show me the guy hammering them with 18-1 CR NA and buzzing them to 8800RPM with the needed valve spring pressure like Mike did with lil E heads ?
They had their place, glad they were here but the High Port was made for a reason, they had issues. Gustram is still useful for some.

That's just stupid! Why is it you compare everything to Mike L?? He had tons of issues, not sure comparing to him is smart. Also name one other person running 18:1 compression? 99% of your post are a waste of data space here

Show me ?? My buddy has them, soft, soft ,soft.
People can not hardly sell them. Just the way it is. Its not like I do not appreciate what Wenzler has done, I do.

If they have hardness problems it CAN to remedied with a little chemical or thermal “aging”.

Have they even done what you did your your High Ports ? You are starting threads just to control the conversation. Who in their right mind is going to spend 3500$ on a high end port job only to have issues when they can just choose a more solid head ?
You have a high end set of Barton High Ports.
You have a high end set of Barton Pro Ports.
You have a set of high end set of Tiger 2s.
I bet you have enough money in those 3 sets to buy a 3 bed, 2 bath 2000sq foot home in Arkansas. And you are going to "bracket race" your Tiger 2 engine ?
My post that Super Chiefs are soft is valid. So do what you do with the new "circle" and rip away.

Lil Jacks dad ran them without issue, twooldgoats has them on his blown car and know issues, Scott Rex few issues. But what do they know. Yes there have been issues but all the issues are correctable just like any other head out there.

Are you talking heat treating like AP does with their IA2A solid ? How does chemical aging work ?

Reher-Morrison-Shepard won World Championships with soft heads.... But they are not as smart as PY's resident Troll.

Just saying

Dragncar also is an expert in analysing what folks spend their money on. I forgot to mention that.

I have a friend, he had a 65 GTO with Super Chief heads. Went 5.90s back in the early 2000s. I believe, its been a long time. I don't recall him having any softness issues. You think that may have only been an early problem? Has been addressed and not an issue with new casting from Wenzler?

BES got 430cfm out of a set of Super Chiefs.

Never had any issues with them.

Made 950 HP with a baby cam on a 535 with a tiger intake.

1000 would be easy with a little more intake work and can.
