Assuming you mean the ones Tim got (not the old ones Stuart mentioned), they are popular with neo-gasser (think: H.A.M.B) racers and builders.

Tim, I need a set of shoes like that for my GP!!

That is a great look for a 62. I had some years ago on mine and tried them at Norwalk but couldn't get any traction and went back to slicks for racing. Now I'm looking into a pair of nostalgia M&Hs for the track.

Drove 40-50 miles on the slicks today. I was shocked at how nice the ride was. The Towel City slicks seem fairly soft. I do like the look. Running them on 30lbs for now. These 8" slicks are not quite as wide but slightly taller than the 235/70/15 Firestone Indy Firehawks I had on before. 8.5" slicks would be a perfect size. For reference, my rear wheels are 7" with 4.5" bs. Driving through the summer season will be a true test. Might even make a run down the track. It's been awhile since I've done that.

Default cheaters

Just saw these on a car listed on ebay. 7.0/29.5-15 But they are not listed on m&h web site. Found them at Jegs not DOT. http://www.jegs.com/i/M-H/676/MVD-007/10002/-1 Nice looking tire though.

Towel City also has these non-piecrust cheater slicks with a boxed type outer tread and slick center patch in the middle. Piecrust slicks were phasing out by the mid 60's. M&H, Radir, Coker, Hurst are some of the companies I know, that offer vintage slicks. Does anybody know of more? By the way these come in 8" & 9" and are 28.75" tall

Engine-Ear I don't have any pics of my car with the pie crust slicks only the Hoosier radial slicks. There are pics in my profile albums. Anyway here are the current specs. Hoosier 29.5x9x15 section width 11.20. Mounted on 15x7 rims and 41/2" backspace. I had to roll the wheel well edge and also sectioned the frame. I was contemplating the M&H nostalgia tires but they are too narrow and the look would better fit my GTO.

Well it's been almost 3 months with my slicks. No issues. Ride is fine. I've yet to get caught on wet roads. No track experience yet either. Drove the car alot this past weekend. Did 2 cruise shows and had many compliments on the vintage look the tires give the car.

I've got a set slicks for my Cat, no use trying to run the car without them, you just leave to much on the table trying to nurse the thing off the line.
