Default needs some advice

Is this a good choice for my firebird? I have an auto tranny and i have a transmission oil cooler, so i think it would work, will it? also would a big radiator like this weigh a lot?

It's the same size and looks like the same one I just put in my 67 Bird. I got mine from Year One and paid $100 more. I'm not sure if the Camero and Firebird use the same mounts but it sure looks like it. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work but does an external trans cooler replace the built in or is it made to work with it? I would be afraid of getting the trans to hot.

Is it heavier than the stock radiator?

I can't remember how much the original one was but it is a little more just because it holds more coolant. Unless your racing it's not enough to make any difference.

you could get an aluminum radiator from summit for only $250, and it works great, for only $40 i think its worth it to step up to aluminum

bastereo, i looked it up, but dont you think its a little small the dimensions on ebay are 17x20x2.25 2 core. my stock size is 19x23x2.75 with a 3 core. would it even come close to my radiator, i guess what im saying is i need something about the same size, and cools better than the stock

it a 2 core aluminum, so it has 2 oval tubes that are 1" wide (and its dimensions are only .25" smaller in each direction than your copper)
your copper core rad has much smaller tubes, i think they are round and about 3/8"?
the aluminum one will work better than a 3 core copper, i replaced my stock 3 core rad with this aluminum one from summit and it cured my heat problem
