Cigar lighter housing, "case"? May be '56-60
Looking for one of these. Not sure what gave up inside but it has no continuity

Cigarette Lighter
I believe that the item at the end of the lighter housing on the RH side of your photo is known as a "fuse" and is replaceable. You might try unscrewing the fuse from the housing and rechecking the continuity on both components individually.
If the fuse is blown, I have a couple of those. Please PM or email me if I can help you with them. If the fuse is blown, you might want to check for a short before putting in a new fuse. |

You are correct, I have seen it called a fuse or circuit breaker. Have since found a couple more that are also bad & found a new one on that interweb auction site.
