Broke my balls today putting back the factory console and 8 track player and original carpet. Trying to get it back in the exact spot was challenging and bracket was drilled in the wrong spot. Dont know how it was ever in there.
But whatever it's in perfect now.

I actually reproduced them from roofing tar paper as my originals crumbled when removed. I figured they help with cooling?
That interior cleaned up nicely by the way!

Keep at it Don, the end is in sight now. Just keep thinking of that first twilight drive with the sunset reflecting off that hood and the feel of that shifter in your hand as you listen to the sweet exhaust note and whine of that transmission! Of course, some good tunes on the 8-Track will just add to the experience!
