Window sweeps or fuzzies revisted
Does anyone know who makes the best most original window fuzzy or sweep?

Just bought PUI's..... but after researching this very same question extensively the conclusion is they are all crap. Top catwhiskers, PUI, doesn't matter.....it's all that is available. Useable but far from perfect.

And no one is willing to improve them. The machines used to make the originals for our cars are long gone. The machines used now are less than desired and no one wants to spend the money to improve them. I was told that over the phone by the vendor when I bought my replacements.

I guess if they were for corvettes they would be better or correct since the owners of those cars wouldn't tolerate incorrect parts but we will.

Window sweeps or fuzzies revisted
Just installed my back ones PUI from Ames. I'm not a big fan of PUI interior but these fit real good, definitely need 2 sets of hands, masking tape mirror and a flashlight, had the rear panels off and the back seat out, all and all not bad, really can't remember what the originals looked like but these look good installed. jd grim 66 GTO the down hill slide is over. love the ride.

Unless you're a stickler for perfection nothing really. The felt isn't as thick as OEM for one thing so when you roll the window up and down they won't actually "sweep" the glass.... secondly, the curvature of the reproduction rear 1/4 glass sweeps is non existent. (at least on 66-67) The original OEM 1/4 sweeps have a gentle upward curve towards the front. The replacements don't and wont look or sit right once installed.
And on some aftermarket sweeps the round bead isn't bent over at the ends like OEM. Not really too noticeable unless you look though. Still, for what you pay for them they should be better fitting. |

Reviving an old thread...I found a set made in the USA from a company called Repops and sold through Collectors Auto Supply, Inc.
They are supposed to have an OEM version. Anyone have experience with these for fit??

The '64-65 folks have good things to say about the Repops brand....I have been researching this lately myself. Here is a link to one thread: http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...78#post5394078
I seem to recall a couple of others...maybe search "fuzzies" in that section. |

This may not apply to 66-67’s but on the 64-65’s I like Repops outside rubber better but I thought the PUI fuzzies were better made. They were sturdier than the Repops it seemed to me. Good luck Murf Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
