Pitman arm
Was gonna change out my "what ever box" I have in this thing to find out what exactly it is.
Bad pics, but I assume the pitman arm should be up higher, not even sure I have the right pitman arm in there in the first place. Thought it was supposed to be curved on the p/s on a 66. Any one know the size socket that fits that pitman nut......put a 1 5/16 12 point on it, seems a little loose...…...seen a video where the guy uses a 1 3/8 socket and impact driver on it, so that doesn't sound right. Pics are bad, I got a little carried away years ago with the POR 15...… Let me know what ya think. Rich |

I would use a 6 point socket. I will look Saturday when I get back from the beach and tell you what size it is if nobody answers before then. As far as how far on the arm goes I always use my good impact and as far as it presses it on is how tight I make it. Never hade one come off

That looks correct. It shouldn't bottom out.
The shaft has a slight taper, as you torque nut on to the 140 spec it's good to go.

Hey Jeff, thanks for that pic, otherwise I would have been trying to get that nut up higher.
Now to get a new rag joint , hopefully that doesn't turn into major drama as with everything lately with this car. lol Rich |

Your pitman arm is as high up as mine so I think you’re good to go
