lol yea they are a beast of there own ---- btw that popping noise you hear them make at the starting line is because some applications pull A LOT of timing to get the thing spooled up -- more so on a stick car but still need some on an automatic -- live long and prosper

It's going back together, Kingsley Machine turned the head around in under a week, Don from DCI Motorsports had guides, and other needed valve train parts delivered in 2 days. Joe Bass supplied a set of T&D steel rockers when T&D said it would take 3-4 weeks to get a few replacements. T&D then ended up delivering the replacements and a few spares in under a week.

We're looking much better right now.

I'd say currently inconclusive.

Machine shop was leaning towards valve failure. Victory performance is interested in taking a look at the valve train.

Is the top of the piston beat up? The first pick it looks like something was bouncing around and hitting the valve... the other one well...it was ****ed and folded in half...

Could have been much worse, if the valve head hadn't "hid" in the port. When I had an intake valve separate like that (my very first blown iron Pontiac) the valve head apparently didn't try to "hide"- broke a whole corner off the block!
I sure hope you make it to Norwalk. I've been waiting to see it run.

How does the keeper, retainer, spring, rocker arm, pushrod, lifter and cam lobe look? Victory valves are pretty high quality, i wouldn't think the head would pop off like that unless it was the wrong valve for the application. I would definitely look things over closely to insure something else didn't cause it so it won't happen again.

Lucky the valve head didn't dance around the chamber/cylinder.

The Raven just fired back up, too late to pull it outside. We'll heat cycle it tomorrow and re-torque head, re-adjust valve and check everything over.
