Default radio question

my 70 judge had the am/fm stereo option, was wondering if this would be the am/fm multiplex unit or just am/fm stereo?

The A body 1970 stereo transitioned from a 2pce to a one piece during the model run.

Here is a pic of the bracket your car would have if it was built with the 2 pce stereo. This is looking through the glove box opening towards the right front fender.

This pic is of a 69 LeMans with a reverb amp but the bracket and the amp housing are identical for the stereo multiplex. If you don't see a bracket you can still look to see if the two screw holes are there on the back of the plenum (the two screws in the pic)

It’s much easier and cheaper to find a one piece stereo and once installed you can’t tell. There are a few from time to time on eBay.

If your car ever goes out in the rain you’ll want to seal up those holes. The plenum is under high pressure at speed so water will get in to the dash insulation and down to the carpet. The factory used sealer on its those screws.
