Verdero Green 67 GTO
On Hemmings, not mine, just an observation:
Some may know I "data mine" the internet for color combos of 67 GTO's and am making a spreadsheet of them all just for fun. I love '67's and like to keep up with pricing, etc. Anyway,I came across a 67 convertible on the Hemmings website and I believe it is the very rare '67 Verdero Green color. This was available I think at least part of the 67 model year, but hardly any came through with this color. The trim tag says 0-1 ("0" is for a "special" color, and the "1" is for the white top) and a parchment bucket interior. So anyway, I thought it was cool and you folks who like stock GTO's might appreciate it; I've never seen one before. https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds...l#&gid=1&pid=8

I hate it when people advertise cars without taking a photo of the 'whole' car.

IMO a special order color doesn't make a car "VERY RARE"
That's a Great looking car with a Unique color choice but beyond that...

Ahhh, thanks for the correction on that color.
And Jeff I see your point:, if it's a special ordered color, rather than a seldom seen factory color, it's not rare in that sense.

squidtone,
I’m not sure what color the 67 is in your post. It seems lighter than the Sherwood Green, plus it’s a repaint so maybe the paint mix was altered? The car I posted is in the Ames business collection. I only found a handful of photos on this car and only one of the engine bay. Two brothers purchased 1967 GTO’s new and this is one of them. Chris.

60sstuff: Whoops,
I'm not paying attention well. I thought you meant that convertible I linked to WAS Sherwood green. So, regarding that one I linked to, the ad isn't very descriptive, and like mentioned before, the pictures aren't very good. I guess it IS a special order color with the "0" on the trim tag. From what I've read, Verdero Green was offered as a "spring" color late in model year for Firebirds, but some GTO's were painted with it. I assumed that car was Verdero. Sorry for confusion. After comments and a read of a blog today ( http://phscollectorcarworld.blogspot...odes-1966.html) My takeaway is that there is no sure fire way to tell what color it could be...it could be Sherwood green, Verdero Green, or maybe even something completely different. In the end, I just enjoy seeing odd or unusual GTOs.

I met a guy at a Pontiac show in Maryland who is the original owner of a Verdoro Green 67 GTO hardtop. It's a very original car and the color looked great. The guy said his father-in-law owned the Pontiac dealership where he ordered the car and father-in-law was able to order it late in the year in the Verdoro color.

As you guys all know, Verdoro was optional as a special order color in '67 on Firebirds and GTO's. Not a common color until '68, when it really took off. I read that the color originated from the color of an ashtray John DeLorean's wife spotted at a party....she showed JD the ashtray and suggested it as a color for the new Pontiacs. The rest is history. Only other Verdoro Green '67 GTO's I've seen are on the Ultimate GTO Picture Site. I always thought Verdoro green would look super sharp on a '65 GTO convertible with a white top and a Parchment interior. Oh well........

I'm pretty sure the car in the original post is Verdoro Green. I know that there were a few ordered in that color for '67.

The 67 in the original post seems a much lighter shade of green than the 68 Verdoro green I had (of course my wife swears I am color blind). It is much like the color in this post from David Jones about his repaint after a wreck:

I completely agree. Looks like my Marina Turquoise 1966 GTO... Oddly enough, by dad ordered a Marina Turquoise GTO in 1966 and traded it in on a 1968 Verdoro Green GTO in 1968. He must like green.
