Nice! thanks for the link.

Here is an early shot of what looks to be the Salta Dealership in 1951.

The Salta card linked above is mine. I have lots more images, many already shown above. Quite a few of them are at the attached link (though not all I have). I would link the individual images here, but probably much easier for you to just follow the link and view them there. Some of them are town views and you have to look hard to find the Pontiac dealership. Admittedly, many of the pictures shown I have found on the Internet and put in this group.

You can also just view a slideshow of them here:
http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...view=slideshow

BTW, I am aware that some of the picture titles are incorrect.

Nice collection firstyearta! I saved your 68 card front and back. Cool to have that written on by the salesman. Would you mind if I posted it here?

Here are a couple more of the Salta dealership. 1964 and 1966.

I give my permission to use any of the pictures I have posted in that group. A credit is appreciated (Kenny Gregrich). Keep in mind, I fully admit, many of the images I have lifted from elsewhere (though many are my own).
Here's a few more of mine I don't think are in that group:

Here's another, not so old, but getting there (this dealer, Wester Pontiac has also been known as Stoker Motors and Bill Anselmy Pontiac in Tooele, Utah).

Any for fun, pick out the used car you'd like from this dealers stock:

Kenny

Thank you to 70Steve for keeping this thread alive and posting additional dealer photos.

And firstyearta, that is an awesome slideshow.

Below is a link to the PontiacsOnline.com feature on Pontiac Dealers that we featured sometime last year. I think most of the pics in that feature are already in firstyearta's slide show. If there are some pics that aren't already in the slideshow, please feel free to use whatever pictures from the PontiacsOnline.com feature. - John

End of an Era...
The old Ace Wilson's Royal Pontiac store from 1962-1970 and home of the Royal Racing Team until 1969, at 400 N. Main Street, just north of 11 Mile Rd Royal Oak, MI. Will soon be coming down.

Since 1971 it has been the home of Jim Fresard Pontiac until a couple of years ago when they moved into Ferndale on Woodward Ave. between 8 and 9 Mile Rd. leaving the old building and property to developers.

The original home of Ace Wilson's Royal Pontiac, 1958 - 1962 still stands as Autometrics Body shop at 818 North Main St. Later the building became home of a AMC dealer.

Controversy over the use of the property.... http://www.wxyz.com/dpp/news/region/...en-a-new-store

Eric - I had the GTO out (early!) this morning and took some pictures of it at 400 N Main. I'll post 'em up as soon as I can.

Thanks firstyearta and gto4door! Some great material the two of you have there.
Pontiacs Online is a great site, I regularly visit but forgot about the Dealer pics there.

Welcome to PY too Kenny, I thought I recognised that username in the first link to your pics. I definately remembered your "pre TA, TA" when I saw it again. I'm a long time lurker at Classical Pontiac. I posted once or twice in the 90's IIRC, but still look there every now and then.
I will add these shots of yours of Salta from 1968.

Default Jim Fresard 400 N Main St in busier times.

Here are some shots I took of Jim Fresard Pontiac back in 2004. Not exactly "old" I know, but given the history of this site and the fact that it might soon be demolished and the fact that all Pontiac Dealers are gone, I thought it worth posting. When I drove up the street, i thought it was ironic that there was a striped 04 GTO on display, considering the famous striped GTO's of earlier years that hailed from Royal.

I walked around a bit, spoke to a Salesman, took some pics, spoke to another Salesman and then got given the "Royal" (groan!!) treatment. Got taken inside, spoke to various people, had coffee etc. and the offer to test drive a new GTO...which I stupidly, politely, declined!!! Idiot. I also failed to take more shots of the older buildings for some reason, even though I walked all around the complex. Idiot, again!

I don't have the address for Holly...I only have a mostly decayed decal on the original trunk lid of my car...it just says "HOLLY" in large letters and then New Jersey in smaller letters underneath that.
