Default Look what followed me home yesterday!

I know its not a judge but this is a very cool Driveway find in my opinion. A good friend of mine told me about this car weeks ago and I didnt go look at it because I figured it was fake. Finally went and looked at it with low expectations and was really surprised at what I saw. Bought it hoping it was real and went soley on instinct and recieved a call yesterday from Jim Mattison and he confirmed what I was hoping I bought. A real 1969 Ram Air III GTO convertible!!! To boot its my favorite color of Crystal Turquoise with a white top and a Black interior. The option list is very cool. Ram Air III, Close Ratio 4spd 433 Special order axle HD rear, rally gauges with Hood tachometer,Custom sport wood wheel,Console with Factory 8 Track player And Steel wheels painted body color with Dog dish hubcaps.. Its a very nice car with very little rust from sitting for years. The interior is beautiful and the car has only 56,000 original miles.I have to try to get it running next week. Everything is there including the elusive 273 carb!! I am really pumped about doing this car up. Heres some pics from its tomb.......

The best part of the story is I drove 150 miles to get it but it was sold new at Ted Rapp Pontiac in Riverton NJ which is only 10 miles from my house so its really a local car to me! The story I got was a woman from Jersey owned it new and used it to tow a sail boat. Dont know if thats true but there are holes in the rear bumper from where a tow hitch used to reside. You would think a car like this would have some gdrag history but if it does it must be in a stock class because the car still retains its original manifolds and exhaust system with only chambered pipes added where the mufflers would be. Still has original headpipes andTailpipes. Looks like a copo chevelle from the underside.

Very nice find! So, really it was as close to getting a Judge vert w/o stripes. Those grills look black, and spoiler fit fine....

of course the grills are black seeing that it is a 69 ram air car. out of curiosity, how can you tell that it came with the 4:33 instead of 3:90 based on the phs????
one of my favorite colors. congrats on the score. ps- is it a numbers matching car?

Awesome find. Love the rusty old floor jack that was dragged from under the car and probably sitting there just as long!

Mattison said it could be either one. I thought he knew by paperwork but he said no. I got under the car today and found the original XM stamp. What a great car!!!! I still cant belive someone ordered it this way.

The guy told me that the spoiler was put on it in the 80's.... I wonder if its an original one. The fit is perfect......

Ted Rapp is the same dealership my car was bought from in 1968. That a beautiful car I can't understand how somebody could leet something that nice sit in a driveway to rot away. Good find!!!!!!!

I know you had some awesome GTO's and plenty of experience so this one's gonna be a stunning car. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!

69 Ram air, vert, 4 speed, 4.33 gears, Crystal Turquoise loaded with the right options, its on my top ten list of Pontiac's I like to own.

Nice job Don!
