I talked to the guy. The X frame was rotted, so someone prior to this owner put it on a 65 perimeter frame that they modified to work. Says it was done correctly, but I assume that's why it's still for sale. Interior looks good, and he said the wiring is not at all hacked up, which is rare after this many years. I think it's worth the money, for sure, and thought about getting it to mothball until I was ready to take on a project, but I am trying to get smarter as I get older and opt out of some of my great ideas...

Just a technical point but U.S. '61-'64 Pontiac big cars did not have x frames. Canadians may have since they were basically Chevys? Interesting that they got a '65 frame to work but I'm not surprised.
That is well worth $1k IMO. |
