Only see 2 Pontiac powered names on the New England Nats pre-entry lists. Adam Strang in on the Stock list.
https://www.nhraeventreg.com/ListEve...NH1&cc=8&rn=13 Eddie Bloom is on the S/ST list. https://www.nhraeventreg.com/ListEve...NH1&cc=9&rn=13 There should be lots of Pontiacs at the Div 3 race, at Indy. http://www.nhra.net/2019/flyers/D3/L...3-halfpage.pdf |

New England Nats & Div 3
Due to the problems with the site, I couldn't post on this thread. Just wanted to make sure the results for these 2 races were posted in this thread.
Adam Strang qualified his '68 Bird with a 10.538 & won his C/S class, at the NE Nats. https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...r2019#indextop https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...r2019#indextop At the div 3 race at Indy, Tim Gillespie won S/G ! https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop And Jason Hennessey got R/U in S/ST. I watched the finals on DRTV. The announcer said that Jason's car was pulled up into the staging lanes, but when it was time to race, Jason got out of the car. I assume it would not fire. Anybody know for sure what happened ? https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop |

[QUOTE=ponyakr;6039757]Due to the problems with the site, I couldn't post on this thread. Just wanted to make sure the results for these 2 races were posted in this thread.

I assume it would not fire. Anybody know for sure what happened ? Big CONGRATS to Tim! I knew I was on borrowed time. I knocked some teeth off the flexplate in rd 3 before I went into the burnout box. Anyone that's been rounds knows that between rounds 3rd round on,things start moving very quickly. I didn't have enough time to put the car up and slide the trans back to put my spare flexplate on. I was very happy that the sunlight turned on in my lane as many times as it did. The last start before pulling into the burnout box for the final my starter/flexplate was in "that spot" and gave up the fight lol. It's all good. If I was to win a divisional I would want my dad and or my wife there to see it. Worth noting Greg Meyers had a awesome race day at Indy also !!

Div 7
There's a doubleheader underway at Sonoma.
http://www.nhra.net/2019/flyers/D7/19SonomaDiv7Ad.pdf There should be quite a few Pontiac powered cars there. I assume this Stock Q-1 list is not correct. It shows only 8 Stockers, total, and shows Leo Glasbrenner in FS/E, rather than his '68 Bird. https://www.nhra.com/results/2019/lu...ock-eliminator The SS Q-1 list shows Brad Burton. I assume he is in the Burton 428 powered 3rd gen. Also shows Peter Biondo. I suppose he could be in the 428 powered Hatari 4th gen. Don't know. Don't remember ever seeing that car at a West coast race. So, he could be driving something else. https://www.nhra.com/results/2019/lu...er/super-stock The race is on Drag Racer TV. Just scanned thru a round of Stock. Saw Pontiacs driven by Bryan Phillips, Brad Burton, & Lindy Lindholm. I suspect there will be others. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwTxR2HxShs Also scanned a round of SS. The description of the Peter Biondo car was definitely of the Hatari Bird. BUT, the car pictured was very obviously a late model FS car of some type. Last edited by ponyakr; 07-18-2019 at 03:54 PM. |

I know it's not a Pontiac but worth noting John Dexter Division 7 super street racer has a streak going...he's 3for3 in his 1st 3 races. He won Tucson,Vegas and Denver...I think that pretty cool I hope he keeps it going!!!!
Reminds me of the Run Jimmy Daniel is on with his new Butler 535! Not quite 3for3 but Jimmy is kicking Tail hope he keeps it going too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Must have overlooked the '73 Formy Stocker, driven by C.W. Hoefer. It ran a sec under the index, for a #2 qualifying position, for race #2.
https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop There are a couple of changes. Brad Burton is driving his '72 Formy in SS, for the 2nd race. And, Scott Burton is driving the 3rd gen GT car. https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop |

I suppose by now most Pontiac drag racing fans know that we had an All-Pontiac powered Stock final ! Gary Riley won, & Dwaine Davis was R/U.
