Default Requirements for racing Street class Tri-power Nationals

Can someone direct me to a website that has the rules for street class at Norwalk? The only thing listed in the official website for street class is DOT tires and closed exhaust. I have GTO George's old car, which has a cage. I guess I specifically need to know what rating my helmet needs to be (Date and Snell) and does cage need padding in the driver's area?? I have run this car before at this event, but has been ten years. Also my five point harness is more than two years old, will that matter in street class? Any help appreciated to see if I can make it.

Cage needs padding anywhere that helmet can contact.
Helmet can be SFI or Snell rated, to the 2010 or 2015 spec. 2005 helmets or earlier are not allowed.
Aftermarket belts must be within 2 year time limit.

Its best to get an NHRA Rule Book and follow it as that is what Norwalk does.

Make sure your neutral safety switch and battery disconnect switch work (if applicable)

Everything mentioned already WILL be checked during tech at Norwalk and you WILL NOT be allowed to run until any issues are fixed. Many guys last year failed tech and were not allowed to run with inoperable Neutral safety switches. If the car has a cage, it need the correct padding rather it runs 9.0's or 15.0's.

NHRA rulebook states no driveshaft loop needed when running street tires and slower than 11 .49 . Do they consider MT SS and MT Street R street tires ? They are dot approved according to MT . Using a strange driveshaft , don't want to drill any holes in floor of street car .

At 10.99 you need a tranny shield. I doubt if they will check, let alone how old it is !
How many racers don't have one ??

And don't forget the locking dipstick.

Locking dip stick Norwalk will not bust you for.

No tranny blanket, they will.

Yes George, it's a 12-13 second car now. Sure I'd like to get it faster. But after a divorce and raising school age kids it's not happening. It still has a driveshaft loop, fuel cell in the trunk, ect. Car has sat for three years, I saved it in the divorce. Just getting it back going. Doesn't look like I'll make Tri Power nationals this year. Thanks everyone for your help. just happy to still have the car right now!

I found some of your paycheck stubs from 1979 in the car. Along with some handwritten DD time slips in the low-mid 11's

A few years ago "MR. Tech" at Norwalk couldn't find anything wrong with my 10 sec. car.
So he suggested I put a clamp on my gas line to the firewall.
I told him I'd look into that.
Sometimes they "nitpick".
