For me it's not a, "What I've accomplished" deal but, the competition. It's all about the competition. Just love it. I've won a few events and my class during the years but, still in love with the hobby and the competition.

Just my 2 cents....

Yes.
Put a switch on the clutch pedal.
(like a brake switch setup)

wd45gto, I think I was wrong on the neutral switch.
With a stick I don't believe you need the switch.

Correct John; nothing in the NHRA manual says about having one with a stick and I’ve passed tech at Norwalk without one. It makes perfect sense to have one but not required.

Has things chanced at Norwalk for teching? I've been twice 2014 & 2016 only 1 of those times i was tech and the 1 time i was the guy just walked around the car and that was it. Does the tech guy still go through the pits teching or do they have a tech location now?

They now have you go to the staging lanes to tech. They always open up tech on Thursday evening.

I have seen them go through the pits and tech cars also . They have checked our cars in pits last couple years .

Yes tech was in the staging lanes on Thursday. He checked my belts, helmet, roll bar padding next to my head area, neutral switch, and shutoff switch.
NEVER looked under the hood.

I know of one 9 sec. yellow car that made at least 2 time runs before being teched.

WOW!! Congrats! My dad started at US Steel in the early 70's, after getting back from Vietnam. Worked at the Baytown, TX mill, which was relatively new at the time. Then one day in the mid-80's, the company and the union got cross, the company locked the gates and it never reopened.

Dad talked about transferring, seems like Gary, Indiana was the probably target. He got a job a chemical plant though, and stayed here.

Sorry for the thread hijack, I've just never come across anyone that actually retired from USX!
