Default Repaired TH400 Tranny Shifting Issue

Gentlemen,

Long story short, I broke the planetary gearset in my TH-400 tranny a couple of years ago. I had it repaired and installed a PG I had and used the last couple of seasons. I decided to go back to the repaired TH400 recently as the car just runs better on the TH400 w/o nitrous and I'm mainly bracket racing these days.

With that said, I re-installed the TH400 with a new converter. I also reinstalled the B&M Pro Ratchet shifter that I was using before with the TH400. The problem is, I have to either choose if I want Park or 3rd gear (reverse valve body) as there is no way to get both. I'm using the same shifter, cable and the shifter bracket as before. To me it seems that the "shifting range" is wider on the TH400 than it was before. I even checked on a TH350 I have in the back yard and the range from park to low is a shorter distance/throw than my TH400. I'm not a tranny expert, could there be some internal flaw to my tranny when it was rebuilt/repaired?

The shifter lever on the trans is the wrong one . You are going to have to shorten the distance on that lever from the shaft to where the cable attaches. That pivot distance needs to be shorter .................Bill

Thank you Gentlemen, I'm using the T/boot lever on the center or "C" hole as per the instructions. I actually left the lever on the tranny as I needed the the other one for the PG. I'm banging my head on the wall yet again...
