Has anyone dealt with ThePartsPlace in Illinois who purchased a Tri-Power unit?.. Are they reliable, parts good, customer service, etc. Thank you

They don't get in a hurry to greet you when you walk in the door.

I've bought from them several times the past 4 years and their reproductions in nearly all of those cases sucked. Some I even returned that I could not modify to work.

*** update*** thanks to all who offered input. I don't think I'll go with them for the Tri_Power. ******.. they may be ok with small part but nothing expensive as the Tri unit.

I wouldn't buy anything from there. Go into the GTO section and ask around, not everybody checks the lobby! I'm sure there is somebody that can help you out!

Ya I should of put I only bought small things from them like window cranks and such.. For a tri power I would see what these guys recommend. Is Jon the CarbKing still active here?

Why yes, yes he is. But he is selling rebuild kits only, IIRC.

I thought Dick Boneske sells Tri-powers? And I thought he was considered somewhat of a Tri-power guru on this forum? He’s pretty active on this site. You could PM him.

What year Tri-Power do you need? Where are you located? I have manifolds and carbs for every year from 1959 to 1966. Also have carbs from 1957 and 1958 (the small ones). I can supply carbs or manifolds separately or as a setup ready to bolt on your engine.

Here are a couple that I restored. I'm in Winneconne, Wisconsin.

1964 421 HO with a set of carbs restored by Dick Boneske. I supplied the two secondary carbs and Dick supplied the 1964 GTO auto trans center carb along with all the fuel lines, linkage and various vacuum fittings.

I ordered the tripower carbs from them about 5yrs ago. They arrived quickly, however one carb was leaking fuel into the manifold. (stuck float?) I didn't want to open it up, so I returned the one carb, which they rebuilt. Overall, very happy with it.
