Guess how fast will it go?
Season is winding down. I have my last 10.0 index race Saturday. Going out next Tuesday night and will be taking all my restrictions out. I will be taking 200lbs out (adjusting ride height to where it is now). I will be taking the 4 hole 1.700" restrictor plate out and Putting full timing back in it. Right now I am taking 4 deg. out in high gear. I will be leaving the exhaust on it.
Typical 10.0 slip is 1.35 60', 6.33 1/8 and 10.00/132. With the above tune I have been 1.32 in 60' and 6.28 in the 1/8. In the summer i have been 9.85/134 with 200lbs of ballast and no restrictor plate. Car is legal to go that fast but I have no license so don't know how many runs I will get. So how fast do you think it will go? Do you think 9.5 are possible? |

I will guess mid to low 9.60s with the ballast removed and the timing back in. What was the MPH in the 1/8 mi. on that 9.85 run? How much does it pick up on the big end of the track?

mph was 109 on the 9.85 pass. I usually pick up about 25-26mph on the back half.

Looks like I will have to wait till the spring to find out. Tire are done. 60's have been falling off for the last few races. Could not get it to hook today. best 60' today was 1.42, should have been 1.35. Spun all of first gear.
Running a Hoosier slick. Don't laugh but this is the 3rd year on the same tire. @ 150 runs. Was trying to finish the year with them. calling it quits for the year. Next year will be getting new rims and tires. Now I have to decide if I want to try radials. |

Wow..3 years on a set of tires is pretty amazing. I feel the radials are more stable up top.

The E/t street radial pro works very well also. I run the 275 on my car.

I run the MT Pro Drag Radial, picked up a tenth with the same 60 foots. Going to give the Pro Bracket Radial a shot next. Expect to hit the tires harder with next build.

Had some trouble running the number Saturday. Not hooking and no MPH. DA was 1600 and 89% humidity. Car felt flat. Never seen so many cars running 10.20 and 10.10 in a 10.0 index race. Best I ran was a 10.14/131.5, 6.43/106.5 in the 1/8 with a best 60' of 1.42 with no restrictor plate. The Saturday before I was 9.97/132 with a 1.38 60' with a restrictor plate.
Everything checks good in the motor. Need to change plugs sooner. Haven't pulled them in 2 years and it shows. Cap and rotor are 8 years old and it shows. Have no idea on the plug wires. Has to be well over 10 years. Have a list going for parts over the winter. I am leaning towards radials. Getting new rims and don't want to drill them. Any of you guys have problems with the radials slipping on the rim. My best 60' has been 1.32. |

My rims are full of holes and the radials do not slip with the High Tack. |

My car is heavy @3750lbs. 60's anywhere from 1.34 to 1.36 Never spun the tire on the rim. Use a little Hi Tack.
