A car that is no stranger
Hello everyone,
You may remember the car in this video link. It was purchased about a year ago off this board and has since gone through a lot to get it where it is in the video. Still needs a few minor items to be where it should be. I want to thank, Chris “The Boss”, for making this video for me as I am a technology dinosaur. Without going into great detail three major items had to be done (there are others, but that is for another day). The Ram Air IV engine had to be rebuilt with less than 100 miles on it, had to repaint the car as the “original” paint hid many sins and the whole electrical system had to be rewired. The engine contains a fully forged rotating assembly 427 stroker kit and with the 30 overbore gets things to 433 cubes. The cam is a Butler custom grind Part #3315/3316HR112. Had the engine dyno’d before it was put in the car and got uncorrected numbers through ram air IV exhaust manifolds and repro RAIV intake manifold: 447 HP @ 5000RPM 535 TQ @3500 RPM 31 degrees total timimg all in by 3500 rpm used 93 octane and 9.9 compression. Here is a partial list from the dyno: RPM HP TQ 2500 247 520 3000 295 516 3500 356 535 4000 400 525 4500 431 503 5000 447 470 5500 436 416 5800 402 356 I’m very happy with the results of the rebuilt engine. I know some of you will disagree with what was done, but it was done to save the car. Let me know what you think. Jim https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAFVExVbLXY |

No burnout with the Boss filming? Or more to come? Sounds lumpy cool! That garage is cool too? Details

Don't know what there is to disagree about, it looks great Jim, sounds good, and will be a fun car with that power on tap. That's gettin' it done pretty good with manifolds in place, and the repop intake looks like it works well enough. Enjoy it!!

I hope you can humor this question;
Why the electric choke conversion? Personally I have found the OE mechanical choke to function flawlessly. That's a beautiful car - thanks for sharing this video!

Went with electric since that is what came on the new Holley carb. The intention was to keep the rebuilt q-jet,but it didn't work out. The q-jet was used on the 1st pull on the dyno. Found the carb to be very lean at idle and way to rich at WOT. Didn't have the time to fix and went with a Holley 750 CFM double pumper the dyno shop had. The engine loved it. The carb problem was an example of a lot things on this car. Got fed up and bought a new carb. |

I had dry wall put up and painted white with a black edging along the bottom of the walls. Led lighting was also put in and I had race deck flooring installed. It is definitely my safe heaven from life's problems. |

He didn't offer & I didn't ask.
Car was a little too fresh for me to deflower it so quickly. Quote:
