Turbo
Where do you find a cheap single turbo for a 455. I want 650 to 700 turbo horse power but the 76 to 88 mm turbos I am finding are all 1100 dollars and up. Are powerstroke or 6.5 or Duramax turbos large enough? Or what salvage or E-bay turbo should I be looking for? Going on a .030 over 6x-8 headed 455 and plan to fab my own piping. While I have the turbo peoples attention on the headers is the heavy pipe nessaary if the turbo is not held up by the pipes. Thanks Rod

Several places to get new S400 turbos for under $700.

My advise, if you are just learning turbos is to try to start with a new unit that meets your needs now and has room for more later. Jeff(turbo69) wont steer you wrong! A BW400 can support up to about 700 hp and can be bought for near that number new. There are better choices out there that migh cost a bit more but may be more efficient. BW400's are limited in housing choices. |
