Default A big thanks to Jack Gaydosh

After 18 months and lots of changes to my car with lots of help from Jack I got back in my car and got my license today.I got all six runs in today. The best was my 5th a 9.59 @ 154.14 with a 1.87 60ft leaving off idle.
I also want to thank Marty Palbykin for a great motor, six passe hot lapped it twice ran flawless.
And Travis Quillen for all your help with the Fast system.
Jack has always been a great friend and without his help I would probably be driving a Yugo or riding a bicycle.
Thanks,
Chris

Congrats on getting your license and the runs.

With that soft short time, you should have a lot left in it.

9.59 @ 154 MPH?

Holy crap, Chris...that car has a bunch of ET left in it. Sounds like it's going to be a wicked ride. How about some more details on the new bullet in it?

It's one of Marty's old motors, a 406 with (what one of my friends likes to call baby turbos) twin 60mms alcohol injected with lightly ported eheads. The best short time today was 1.72. Last time we took the car to the track it grenaded the rear on the 1st hit leaving off the trans break. So we tried to footbreak the car today and it blew the tires off at the hit. So then we decided to leave off idle which seemed to work to just to get some seat time. The last two passes were mid 9s @ 154mph & 153mph and felt great.

It's one of his old motors and it has a 3.75 stroke. I was shifting at 6200.

A little more boost will help 12 psi you are just getting started.

Congratulations on your license.

A good little street engine that was in Scott Schrader's 1971 GTO it ran a high 8@154
with a stock chassie.

Have fun and be careful......

Chris,

I watched 4 of your passes yesterday, with Jack giving me the heads up each time. Good Job on starting out slow and giving it more each run. It looked wicked & fun to drive on each run. Now, replace the rear over the winter and you'll be flying come next year.

Jim

is that a belt driven fuel pump in one of the pics? If so, what size? What size injectors are you running?
