If you have to cut all that grass I don't see how you have time to work on those Pontiacs. It wouldn't do for me to have a building that size, I would just collect more junk

I don't mind cutting the grass, in fact it is kind of relaxing turn on the ball game on the radio have a cold beverage and just drive the JD tractor. The hard part is finding enough time to work on the cars as I am out of town alot with my job.

I'm sorry...I guess maybe I'm envious...BUT...these high end garages in the previos post are NOT wrencher/real enthusiast garages...I bet these owners don't even know the difference between a 6 pt and 12 pt closed end wrench ! There's not even any excess WD-40 or spray paint overspray or any evidence of an oil change gone bad !

Here are a couple of pictures of my garage. I just bought the house in March (we bought it because of the garage), and for the first time in my life, all my cars are stored indoors!!! It's not fancy; no lifts (yet) or fancy displays, but it's big enough for all my stuff! It's got lots of storage space, and a workbench. Plus, I work on my cars in it, so even if it was fancy, it would end up with grease and oil everywhere anyway. My wife says it smells like a garage, too!!

Default Let's see your garage

oops...

I indeed forgot about all the garage smells !!!! Very important to the overall character of a 'REAL' wrencher's space !

Dlarkins,

The little mechanic is my 3 year old son. He is as much of a motorhead as I am, and spends almost as much time in there as me! When I am working on a car, he pulls out some of my tools and tries to help!

I am very fortunate to have gotten a good deal on the house and garage. I am still in awe every time I walk in there. I grew up in Phoenix, and the last 13.5 years I had a rickety 1-car garage, and all my stuff stored outside...

Nice and well organized garage! So tell me how you keep all the dust/dirt off those open shelves...I'm still trying to design mine for some upper cabinets to fill up the top part of my walls.....

Just curious as to how this holds up to oil and floor jack use?? Looks nice but not sure if it would hold up to heavy use??

actually the floor gets used just about every weekend. it does show light scratches ie: if i move my 3 ton floor jack and the wheel picks up a small rock it will stop the wheel and drag the rock creating a scratch in the clear. i used two coats of clear and two coats of base. oil and gas wont harm it at all. it does get like a skating rink when its wet.

Default My 66

I am both happy to have what I do, and greatly envious of what I have seen here.
I dont have a photo sharing site, but I have been chronicalling my car at:

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/388784...ontiac-tempest

Some of those will show my smallass garage with my bigass car sticking half way out of it...

Thanks for bringing this back up.

I've got some (previously unpublished) photos of one of my garages that you might be interested in. As soon as I can find them I'll post 'em up.

Basically, it's an overall "white" scheme with some multicolored 80's graphic stripes around the middle.
