Question Black trim op Can Am - How did Motortown do it?!?

I'm trying to figure out how I can restore the black trim on my Can Am.
Both front and rear window trim pieces have lost all their black coating.

Looking at the side trim I can't really tell if Motortown painted these pieces or if the covered them with some sort of black film / tape or a coating of some sort.

How did you guys restore these pieces?!?

The window reveal trim and rocker trim was originally black anodized aluminum, which fades over time. I have removed the trim, and painted it with SEM trim black, which looks good. The belt trim was originally covered with black stripe vinyl which is easy to purchase.

Thumbs up Window trim

I repainted my window trim a couple of times, Never even took it off, just cleaned it good , masked it off and painted it. I think one day I'll take it off and have it powdered coated

What Rick said. When my father purchased this Can Am in 1990, the molding around the windshile and rear window was "natural", but when we removed it to paint the car, we discovered it was actually faded, and showed signs of some sort of anodizing or "coating" underneath where the sun couldn't reach it. We just repainted them, which after 16 years is starting to show wear in certain areas where the car cover has contacted the molding.

Thanks guys

I had the feeling the belt trime had some sort of vinyl stripe stuff on it, because I can peel it off.
Both my front and rear window trim are aluminum and look like they were brushed at some time....
