Default Videos That Make Me Cry

There are three videos that just tear me to shreds; send more tears down my face than the Mighty Mississippi rolls pas Memphis ever day.

First a little silly and many of you won't get this; but it's a song by a couple of new guys. I haven't had music move me in a long time but this song does it; probably because it has come along at a hard spot in my life.

http://youtu.be/f_RjlIPuqyc

Next is from the one and only Big Daddy Don Garltis; this video twist me up every single time I watch it, I'm crying before I watch it.

http://youtu.be/hhv410kC2ZY

And then this one cuts me to the core; all the way. I know this is to be with my youngest son in very short order; I will never have the pleasure of building his first hot rod and taking him to race track for his first passes. I watched this one over ten minutes ago when I got the idea for this thread and I'm still balling like a baby. This is one hell of a good movie and you have to watch at least to 2:34 and then skip to 128:44 to know why it just flat kills me.

I have a few too, mostly by Estonian composer Arvo Part.

Philosophical profundity that’s at once both comforting and harrowing. His true gift is his command of silence. It's so hauntingly beautiful.

from this album.

I have all of his works, available on the ECM Classics label.

Best experienced in a very quiet dark listening environment.

The piano in the first one reminds me of a more laid back approach to the torment found in Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.

It sounds like you've analyzed your life to highlight the things that matter.

I heard this a few months ago and hope to remember this the rest of my life:

"Never love anything that doesn't love you back".

Noooo! I believe that it means not to "love" inanimate objects. Love relationships.

And by the way, this thread was about relationships.

Let me help out here by reminding you that someone, somewhere, a long time ago, died in a diabetic coma the day before insulin became available.

You just never know.

I have two sons up there and I just can't listen to Tears In Heaven by Clapton, so yeah, no building hot rods with and more.... don't watch movies with kids or people drowning... don't like car accident scenes where people are thrown from cars.... can't do any of that stuff and when it hits by surprise it is no fun......

bird72 I had to get out of bed on your post.

I don't want you to talk about it, just know that my heart is tore apart for you.

If anything happens to any of my kids you may as well send over the National Guard to keep me away from all possible means of offing myself.

There are so many good things in that Earnhardt movie and I know the movie focuses on Jr.; but you watch any real life interviews and coverage, you can just see the love pouring out in abundance when Sr. is with his children. I wonder if I can measure up to that; I know I got some from my dad, I hope I have given enough back.

Tonight my youngest gave me a whole ten minutes of his time for 101 on Engine and Associated Parts

Having been faced with my own mortality with my cancer battles, and realizing that I have two boys (ages 11 and 10), Lynyrd Skynyrd's Simple Man moves me more than I can say.

Nothing wrong with being "moved" by music...any music. I'm a metal fan. There are plenty of songs that move me because of the lyrics, not the pounding and screaming, lol.

69goatboy

Skynyrd was my first love. There are some fantastic documentaries on Youtube about Hell House and other points of the beginning. I even read a couple of books on Skynyrd.

What a tragic story!

This pic is from about 1979; I was 16 and just started the first chapter of GTOAA here in Tulsa. Front plate says it all.

My first wife passed at the age of 38 to stomach cancer 18 years ago, to this day still can't listen to "Lady in Red", her favorite song. Music is powerful!!!

Skynyrd is one of my favorite bands----Simple Man says it all.................

This one makes me cry like a baby when I watch it. To anyone who has lost a loved one, this pretty much sums up the desperation one feels and all the regret that goes through your mind about the things you hadn't done and said.

Bob Dylan - Knocking on Heavens door really gets to me. My wife's cousin killed himself on my birthday 13 years ago. After a very hectic day at my bar from all the people coming over. It finally cleared out around 9pm. I just got to sit down with a friend at the bar and that song came on the radio. I just lost it. To this day it gets to me and make me wonder if he was sending me a message.

Inspirational cut from Rocky (hope that fits this thread) got me through a divorce and and still moves me forward today. I just wish my dad lived long enough to have this talk with me when I was a kid. Took me to many years to figure this out.

This song by Creed came out at exactly the time we found out that were gong to have my daughter. Cant listen to it without breaking down because even after 13 years, I hope Im the father she needs to move her in the right direction as she grows. The fact that she and I are so close gives me hope.

The Beatles, In My Life does it for me because of my past and just how damn lucky that I found my wife Debbie and the great life we have together.

Last but not least on a happy note, The Beatles Here Comes The Sun brings a smile to my face no matter what mood Im in. I play it quite a bit before I walk in the door at work to lift me up.
