Forget the Deer...
Forget the deer! Our neighborhood is now being overrun by Black Angus steers...
My wife left the house this afternoon only to encounter this cute young steer enjoying the late summer grass and foliage. Needless to say our two dogs were close to having a nervous breakdown over this trespass on their domain. I was able to track down the neighboring farmer from which the beast escaped. Turns out this is his granddaughters 4H steer being raised for the next years County Fair. They were able to lure the beast into a trailer with cracked corn, and peace has been restored. On a related note, I bounced a young deer off the right front bumper/fender of my new F350 yesterday. F350 - 1, young deer - 0. |

Now you've got me wondering how one of those new aluminum F150s would do in a small animal encounter?

That F350 is beautiful! Cant beat a black, crew cab, Powerstroke Platinum edition!
As for the new aluminum trucks, I saw one on a flat bed yesterday, and the passenger side was ripped open pretty good.

Now that's farm to table fresh right there Bob!
I hit a Jaguar & a Honda with my F350 - neither survived. Sorry to hear about the deer incident.

Regarding the deer incident, there was no damage other than to the deer. The Super Duty trucks are shifting to aluminum for 2017 which is a large reason I finally bit the bullet and replaced my 1999 F350 in 2016. For some reason putting an aluminum body on a work truck just seems counterintuitive.

What's a "steer" ? All I see is Porterhouses, ribeyes, short ribs, chuck roasts, osso bucco/ soup meat and other such tasty morsels wrapped in a rug...........
