Sweeyt looking Todd, But all that time I spent
On getting the right amount of flattening agent mixed in the paint to match the old and dull original finish. I could of saved myself a lot of time!!!!!!! Just saying. Car looks sweet though, I WANT IT BACK. GT. |

I am getting closer to a complete car. The interior is in except for the vintage Hurst shifter. The seats/door panels were stitched by a local shop near Otterville, Iowa. The carpet and headliner came from Ames Perf. Thinking about paint, but like the "rod" look with the Cragars.

X4 Drive it like it is.
There will be people around the car where ever you go. I took mine to the local cruise and they were all over it, till the time I left. And every one said DON'T paint it, exscept a few females. They just don't get it I guess. GT. |

Great interior job! In my humble opinion, the car deserves a great paint job, also? John

No argument on that. Were it mine, I'd ride out this summer on the patina and paint it maybe for next year. Perfect makes me nervous.

So, Jerry, what's the going price for YOU to do an interior? I'm only half kidding here, and you thought you were retired, lol

I was thinking the exact same thing. That's the same color combo of the black car, Stan. My red 4dr. has it also.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I tried to match the original interior colors the best I could with the materials the shop had and what they looked like before fading. Not a perfect match, but close enough to look original. The pictures show the original seats and door panels.

After several years, our Tempest project has hit the road! Before putting it in storage for the winter, we took it for a drive around town. The brake system works well, the tranny shifts, and it tracks straight down the road. Only problem was the carbs were flooding the engine. Seems the after market mechanical fuel pump has a high pressure output. After adjusting the floats down, it idled without flooding, but next spring it is getting a fuel pressure regulator.

Now that the Tempest coupe is running, I am starting on a convertible project for my wife. The body work and paint were completed by Als Body Shop in Ellendale, Minnesota. Al is a great metal fabricator. The first step is plumbing a complete NOS power brake system found at the POCI convention last summer. The back brakes and lines are done, so moving to the front wheels and firewall.

Very nice! Both projects are great. I especially like that powerplant in the coupe. It will be so much fun to drive.
