Thanks for the pics. Looks like the outlet is SLIGHTLY rotated from the originals. But I'm assuming close enough to be workable.

We got our SP1304MP from RockAuto earlier too! Here are some pictures of ours, although we don't have a stock one to compare it too, it looks correct....

We are installing ours right now with the new engine on the stand, and I can report that the new Ames FN327 Carb to Pump Fuel Line and the new SP1304MP Spectra Fuel Pump works great together with factory 1970 7040270 Qjet with short filter housing.. We did have to tweak the end of the line down at the pump, just very, very slightly to get it to line up perfect, but it was very close and now works perfect after that minor adjustment.

Okay. Mine can in today from AutoZone. It’s the same pump SP1304MP and $39.99!
AutoZone uses their own part number: B1304MP. You can see the original part number under the AutoZone label. |

WOW, so AutoZone is by far the cheapest place to buy it then, with RockAuto being second cheapest that I've found... Great to know! Thanks for sharing

wow - that's a big price difference too!!
I just looked it up, on Rockauto one is $72.36cnd ($55.60usd); While that AZ unit is $52.04cnd ($39.99usd); That's a twenty dollar difference!!! I know exchange is miserable right now (and not forcasted to get better any time soon), but sheesh... Btw, I looked, and the cheapest I found on eBay was chump-change away from $100cnd before shipping... eek! Well, I hope these don't sell out too quickly because I am holding off for the moment.

I've never forgotten about this discussion, and would on occasion look these up to see if there was a price drop, but it looks like there never was for Canadians - then the listing disappeared the last couple times I looked.
It's not currently up on Rockauto either. We don't have autozone up here, so if they can still get these, that's great - but with the borders more or less closed for the last two years, that's never been an option for me. But I also have been keeping an eye on old stock Pontiac Fuel pumps; I came across a number very recently that I couldn't cross reference when I stumbled on this listing - and snapped it up. It was a great price, and really reasonable shipping (which is extremely rare these days for Canadians); I just received it, and sure enough the box says 40959, but the part is stamped 40838 - this must be a really old part!!

I have bought many old stock pumps, and they all had issues with ethanol in fuel. Where? at the crimp point. I have had a couple showers under my lift.
Enjoy the wall hangar unless you are buying or making Non alcoholic fuel...

around here at least, it's easy to stay away from ethanol free premium gas.

I remember Big A Auto Parts. They went out of business in the late 90's. At best it's about 25 years old.
