Calling it a 71 455 HO 4 speed and having the full vin means you've run the PHS to verify?
Because, that's the only way to really know. Maybe the RA, rear spoiler and special paint will be on it too? I don't see the correct fuel line or open face alt to think it's all original anyways... But, VIN verifies it as a Formula in 71. The rest seems a bit changed over time.

I saw it on Copart and asked if anybody knew the car. I then obtained the full vin as it is not in the ad and posted it for those that could be interested.
I never implied that I had the PHS. You're taking a little too much liberty there pal. Your attitude doesn't make you smarter than the rest of us.

You did impled knowledge of that cars engine and transmission by the title of your post.
Not in ad anywhere I can see? My advice is to run PHS pal

it would be nice if there was a little more information posted about it;
in 1971 a 455 could be had in two flavours; 1) D-port (regular 455) = auto only 2) round-port (455HO) = auto or stick If this is a real Formula 455 originally built with a stick, then it could only be an HO.

I don't disagree, but if someone who looks at hte car can post something of substance, that would help - heck, a side engine shot would help.

Not familiar with Copart auctions.... I can't find any write-up on car (?). Sorry if I missed it. Seems a car like this would have an attempt at explaining heritage. The lack of hyping attributes inspires questioning, so I get doubters until PHS. If it is an original 4 speed car that makes it a great car in itself. But a rebadged F400 (or gulp F350) is a different cat than a real HO car. Also, most HO sellers show off side head big port....... Cool car regardless of equity level unknown.

not necessarily if it started out life as a 350/2bbl/th350 car - and if it still has a 350 engine.
Who knows what that shiny paint is hiding. Were I close, and had means, I would have taken a gamble on it - afterall it was a still a Formula with three pedals.

If it was at a Copart it was probably a flood damaged car totaled by the insurance company.

The interior pic sure looked too clean to be a flood car, but you never know!

Not that it being a flood car would bother me.
