New Toy
My wife and I have been in the market for a travel trailer for the last few years.
Last weekend we drove up to San Jose and bought a new Airstream. Got a really great deal on 25' Flying Cloud. Now I need to put some money into the Silverado to get it ready for towing. We drive back up to SJ this weekend to pick it up. And yes we are happy campers LOL.

Dang, that's deluxe! I'd hate to see how much it costs to get a "deal" on a new air stream. Airstreams are second to none!
p.s. put some airlift airbags in your rear springs and make sure to use a weight distribution hitch. makes a HUGE difference with towing.

We originally were looking at a 20' single axle unit which would have required ordering from the factory. But after reading through the Airstream forums where people would buy small but end up trading in for larger units a year or so later, we decided to just go ahead and get the 25' for an extra 15K. My truck can handle the extra load but it will be at 90% capacity when the trailer is fully loaded.
I already have the weight distribution hitch but will wait and see if I need the air bags. I do have the HD rear posi axle but may have to change the axle ratio. The test will be when I bring it home. Couple of low level passes and the Grapevine hill to go over.

What does it weigh? What are you pulling with? Sounds like its time to upgrade the truck (buying a new trailer is a good excuse)! At 90% of your towing capacity that truck is gonna be struggling! As far as I'm concerned, 80%'ish of the stated towing capacity is what I consider 100%.....
I tow my Rockwood Roo 21ss hybrid (just under 5,000lbs empty) with an '06 Yukon with 5.3. The Yukon has been computer tuned and has factory 4.10 gears and every other factory option for towing. As I said previously I added airbags and it tows my trailer no problem even in the mountains but I certainly wouldnt want to go any heavier with it. My Yukon is rated at 10k for towing with the 4.11's...
