Exhaust: What Sounds Best to You?
I personally dont like those reverberating "tin canny" sounding exhaust.
Looking to finally do some mods on this 05 now that its coming off lease.
I looked at a bunch of examples on YOU TUBE.
Whats you thoughts on this setup?
First one at idle, Second one reving.
Still sounds a little high pitched but audio recording might be skewed slightly.

I've been liking the spintech catback's with the street pro mufflers lately. There are several of them on youtube. I just listened to one on a gto that was completely stock except for the catback. It was doing a dyno pull and sounded pretty good.

What do the H or X pipes do for the sound? Anyone know?

Just from what I have read on the LS1GTO forum. The H pipe will give it more of the traditional v8 musclecar sound. The X pipe give is more of a european v8 car sound.
There are a ton of clips on youtube that you can listen to. Also on the LS1GTO forum in the exhaust section there is a link to a whole lot of exhaust sound clips. You coul spend an hour just listening to them, going back and forth trying to discern the differences between setups.

My friend has got an '05 with the corsa system (which has an X pipe) - i don't know much about the various exhausts for those cars, but the sound ROCKS. I wouldn't call it European at all. It's got a very nice rumble, not too loud and not too quiet at idle and when he gets on it - you can hear it roar. I believe he used to have a Magnaflo system, and it didn't sound as good.
