Default Window trim question on a '73

How do you think this would look? Front and rear window trim on a '73 TA blacked out like a '77 or '78 SE on a Brewster Green car?

Search the net for pictures. There are many customized Firebirds out there with window trim like you're describing.

it has to suit the rest of the car and what you have done to it, it won't look classic.

My taste is no. I like the bit of shiney. It also does not go with the chrome bumper or grille accents. You asked

Hey , I'm one of those ^^^ Firebird guys!

It's certainly an opinion thing and while I love a perfectly restored car with brilliant aluminum, chrome & stainless trim I also like modified. To me, (opinion) it depends on the rest of the cars features which have an influence on whether painted window trim looks like it belongs or looks "funny".

Because our minds are so accustomed to seeing "stock", when only one thing is different our mind says something doesn't look right. If everything else on the car appears stock except the windshield & backlite trim our minds will tell us it looks wrong.

Things to ponder if you're considering blacking out the window trim.

Will the drip edge over door windows be blacked out?
Will the vertical chrome trim at the rear of the door glass be blacked?
Is there a chrome strip on the top door edge rubber strip?
Chrome door handles?
Stainless door locks?
Interior color?
Clear or tinted windows?
Aftermarket dark tint?
Blacked out wiper arms?
Vinyl top?

It was done to my car back in the mid 80's when the car got repainted. They convinced my dad to black out all the chrome and painted the rear chrome bumper red with black bolts. I didn't care for it and switched it all back. I doubt I have any pictures of it that wat, but I will check.
