1971 GTO A/C Heater control vacuum question.
I have a 71 GTO w/ac that does not have a heater control value or vacuum line coming out of the fire wall. Could it be possible that it has a 72 GTO A/C unit that did not use this control value? This car was built in April on 71 but has some 1972 option on the bill sheet.

I have a 70 gto that did have the heat control valve in the heater hose and vac line with the 3 pin switch in the control panel assembly. Fought like hell to get all the parts I needed to get it to work and the handful of 71 units I had in my hands did not have the 3 pin switch and valve. So I would not be surprised if your car is not suppose to have that. I wonder if they discontinued the heat control valve because of freezing evaporators? I would be curious to see if someone with a original 71 could tell us if their car had a heat control valve ( but I guess you would be to) good luck

My early build 71 has the heat control valve. I simply assumed it was correct for 71. Maybe a midyear change item though? I'm sure the more knowledgeable guys will chime in with the correct answer.
