Default What are you going to do with your $1200?

I probably won't get it. Between my wife and me are Social Security isn't enough to file taxes and there going by the 2018 tax filings.

Won’t get it. We’re well over $75,000.

$ 75,000 is the individual number. It's more for joint filers.

I lose out on a loophole. When I left my last job, I cashed out a small retirement account to help with moving and all that. So my tax return with that puts me over the 99k limit even though my wages are more like $85k. Which as I understand it wouldn't get the 1200 but you get something.

If Im wrong and do get something, it will go to trying to get my Drag Week car ready. Probably a fuel cell.

If we would get it, we’d save it of course

I'm out of work since the virus rules closed our business ... so I'll use it for bills so I don't have to dip into savings.

My wife will probably give me hers to spend on the GTO

Mike has Blue Cross Blue shield PPO High. Top of the line plan BC-BS has. He has to have a certain number of hours reported to keep this plan. He is now laid off, but is able to collect un employment on a special Covid19 form. Lucky for us Mike is the top guy in the Company and the Owner is going to make sure he gives him the hours to keep the insurance. Mostly need it for me being a Leukemia patient, and one Chemo medication I take is ....$30,000 for 30 pills, and I take it twice a day, that’s $60,000 a month. I’m still here because of this drug. Took 3 Oncology Dr.s at Penn Medicine to fight the Insurance Co. to get it for me. All we pay now is a copay, but if I were to lose it because of not enough hours reported, I’d most likely never get it back. So a very worrisome stressful time right now. $1,200.00 is nothing to us.

Yep .... in my opinion any single person with no kids that makes over $40K should get nothing. Couple with no kids $75K

If I get it I'll probably use it to pay on a Credit Card bill that I have due to a Medicare mistake. Been fighting with them for over 15 months now to get over 3k back that they took out of my SS check that they shouldn't have.

Just for arguments sake, I dont think children should be a tax break at all, ever. Nor do I think joint filing should be a thing. So I dont particularly think they should factor here either. Why do I get punished for not contributing to overpopulation? You also at the very least arent accounting for location. 75k in rural Arkansaw is not the same thing as 75k in San Diego.

For the record I think the whole thing is a bad idea. Just adding trillions to the debt. But, if someone is going to hand out checks, Ill spend the money.

I won’t get anything but thanks to what happened in the market it more than makes up for it.
Wife really wants a new Tahoe so we might be looking tonight as dealers are offering some nice discounts with this scare.

Pay some bills. I'm also laid off, at least til 4/7. Got some decent savings, but would rather not tap into it if I can.

Our Dealerships are all closed. Only online buying, you pick it out online, they deliver it, they do the paperwork curbside, you test it out, keep it or they come take it back. No showroom visits allowed.

I am also going to find 3 or 4 friends who are struggling. I am still working and my wife is still working so we are going to pay it forward, help our kids and then some very deserving friends who are struggling.

I did that today... I live deep in the country and a guy in front of me told me to go ahead of him as he had a bag of change...
I asked what he was getting... he said gas and had a ginger ale in his hand... I i paid for his drink and put $20 in his tank.
He was very thankful but told me i was freaking him out.... he was a 30 something black man and there is some racial tension out here...
Not with me at all... i dont care what color your skin is, we are all in it together in my opinion

Another option, if you can afford to spend the money, is to spend it at local small businesses that are struggling because of the shutdowns. Your favorite restaurant, your child care, etc.
