Awesome car, nothing more to say that hasn't been said already.

Whitewalls and spinner hubcaps never looked better, it's amazing how right these look on your GTO.

Congrats on your purchase.

I just changed the oil and also the gas filter I used a repro correct oil filter and a repo correct gas filter.
The car runs great even with old plugs and wires from 1968
I took a few pics outside and a short video, I will try to attach them

notice I cleaned one half of the valve cover on the passengers side....They will clean up great.

THIS IS A SHORT VIDEO..... Click on it to play it.

No its the camera noise you hear

the original owner gave me an NOS complete exh system.

Amazing car. Can't get over how good the interior is and the color combo. Good find in Mass.

Interested in pics of the exhaust. Does the car have resonators? Did the NOS set come with them? Beautiful car, my first Pontiac was a 65 LeMans vert white with the same interior as yours. Thank you very much for the time you have put in to share with us!

Interesting; thank you for posting that (and thank you for saving it on the car/not painting over it).

The car had resonators when new the original owner told me that he removed them shortly after buying it. I beleive he said they were in the tail pipes?
The new exhaust does not have resonators with it
I really want to add the chrome splitters on this car since I will be changing the tailpipes but it did not come with them when new .

Personally, I don't think you would go directly to hell for putting splitters on the car. I think they'll look great myself and it's not something that can't be changed back. Once you replace the present exhaust system, it's not original anyway so...why not?

FWIW: My father ordered a 1997 Z28 ragtop in early May, 1997 - and GM delivered a 1998 very late August 1997.

I'm with Greg Reid 100% on this. Put the splitters on. It's your car now, and you are it's current historian and part of its continuing chain of history. 65's really look great with splitters, and they are reversable and not a game-changer.

This is a 64 not a 65, but body shape is the same. We did this one last year.
