RA-II or 382; How many bellows does your clutch rod boot have?? 2 or 3. I can't quite make it out from the picture. "Bill"!
382; Are the nuts you refer to on the carb base plates 7/16 or 1/2 hex? Are the ends of your studs engine blue? THANKS

The problem I see in the poor quality photo of your regulator is the capacitor is mounted in the wrong place.
This could be just the installer or you are using the wrong capacitor with a short wire such as a Buick/Olds version and you had to fasten it on top?? Pontiac wire is longer.

Pics show proper placement and stamped numbers.

And it seems both are Dec. cars after the strike. Tri fold must have ended near the end of 64 build. "Bill"!
Still looking for a 65 with one.

Carb base nuts are 1/2" hex with engine blue on the entire threads, of course you see only the ends showing. It is NOT a dab of paint on just the ends of the threads like you see on many restored cars.

Bill, I know this clutch rod boot topic was discussed somewhere before but what is your thinking on the "Tri fold" theory?

This 05C Pontiac Built 64 below has the same boot as the above Dec. 65's (two bellows).

My original '64 regulator cover looks just like your "incorrect" one. Yes, the wire harness goes over the top of the master cylinder.

There was a style used later that the wording was in line. Think he is confusing them.
I installed capacitor not to hide dates.

Chris, Not much confirmed on my end. My early April Pont. car has a correct 2 fold. I'm not the orig. owner and it had a lot done to it when I bought it. I know of an orig. late April car that has the trifold besides what has been discussed here. I can't find what plant. Misplaced my notes for now. Who knows. Could be plant to plant. I also know where several NOS are, but the owner has let me purchase one, YET!!! I am persistent and haven't given up. Not much help at this time. And the flashers are a crap shoot. "Bill"!

Did you mean that dld's was on the inside and Dick B's was on the outside? Dick's is a 64 and they never came from the factory with progressive linkage. I think Dick said at one time putting it on the outside prevented the linkage from binding up. If it is an over the counter part like Dick's I guess you can do with it anyway you want. dld's 65 is correct.

Mine is the mechanical linkage kit 9777071 released 11-3-63 for the '64 GTO. It was sold over the counter. Prints attached are for the big Pontiac version 9777070. Everything for the GTO is the same except the lack of a throttle return spring on the big Pontiac linkage.

Note the rear carb throttle arm stud is on the outside of the lever with this linkage kit.

When using the slotted rod mechanical linkage introduced in '65, the stud is mounted inside the throttle lever. The last picture shows a "correct" '65 linkage setup.
