Time has taken its toll and its time to replace my TA's upholstery. Anyone familar with the quality of seat covers available from Classical Industries. They appear to have what I need. Bill Boyle

Never dealt with them on seat covers Bill, but have purchased other repro parts from them in the past and they've been comparible in quality to what I've purchased from Ames.

Regardless if you get the upholstery from Ames or Classis Industries, I can assure you it will be coming from the same supplier. The name of the supplier escapes me right now, but as soon as I find it I'll post it. The seat covers I got from Ames were of very high quality, but a pain to install. Took about 12 hours on one seat and 8 on the other (after learning all the mistakes on the first one).

I have a beautiful set of black vinyl seats for my 79 that are being replaced for race units...shave some weight. If you are interested e-mail me. Scott Rex owned this car before me and he can confirm their quality. Just thought I might try to help.

I also have an ultra-lightweight fiberglass shaker hood I am selling too.

PUI rings a bell Bill. I think the seat covers I got from Ames came from PUI.

There are 2 makers of 79 Seat Upholstry. PUI and ICP. Year One, Ames and PY carry PUI. Classic Industries I think carries ICP.

BTW The cloth interior is not available yet. We are still looking for a sample of the material.

Chris, Do you need samples of all the hobnail fabrics & the lombardy cloth too? Have access to most of the hobnail colors, either NOS or mint used.

What about some plastic seatback repro's...

No, I just need to show them what Hobnail looks like. Any color will do!

How about a sample set of the seat backs? We'll get that in the works too.

Chris, Will get you a sample of hobnail in the mail early next week. Will check out my extra seatbacks. Imagine you need perfect seat back for a mold to take??? This maybe tough. Believe I have one that is close to flawless. Even looked at some NOS ones in TX last weekend & they were scratched...Roger

NOS is not necessary. If this project gets done, it will be "Vacuum formed" like the GTO ones not molded. Vacuum forming tooling is dramatically cheaper than molding. Only way to cost effectively pull it off.

Why don't companies supply the cloth material? I want to do my seats eventially and I really don't like the camel vinyl color. The cloth looks much better. Is it because upholstery shops can get the cloth?
