'67 LeMans convertible, leaky trunk, has caused new-last-year top to develop some mildew. How to make it go away?

Thanks,

Steve

What a coincidence. They're the ones that made my top. Didn't occur to me to call them. Thanks.

If they can't help you, try some cleaners that are available for boats. Boats that are covered, always have this problem. For the low buck solution, use water and some bleach. Bleach will kill the mildew which is what you want to do. Test it first, to be sure it does not affect color, etc.

The boat hull cleaners usually have some type of acid, one type I use has hydrochloric acid. This eats away fungus and algae growth from a boat hull like you would not believe. I also have used it on my canvas and it does a great job of eating away the organic growth such as fungus. Be careful with it and test it on a small area to make sure.

Regards, George

Thanks for all the answers. I don't think I'm going to have to worry about it much longer though, as the car will probably be sold tomorrow....
