"pure unobtanium"

close...

maybe semi-unobtanium? ;-)

I will say it would the VERY LAST CAR I'd ever consider letting go of (imminent death perhaps?). I think the II is about 200lbs lighter than my 69 RA4 TA. No ps no pb bench seat no rallyees help add to the -75lb weight advantage it would have over a similarly equipped 69 Ra 4 Bird (using 68 vs 69 Firebird AMA specs)...

With most/all 69 TAs having heavier rally IIs, the TA's mandatory PS, PB and added rear deckwing (not to mention beefier suspension) an additional 100lbs+ is lopped on relative to my stripper ram II. hence, the ~200lb differential...imo the 69 ra 4 ta would have a BIG uphill battle vs the ra II ...

bottom line, even with a (hypothetical) lightweight 69 ra iv bird, it STILL would be very tough to beat a stripper II Bird.

Since it's a fact that a RA IV '70 1/2 Formula COULD have been ordered, then one WOULD be considered legal for PSD competition.
