Default The '60 Ventura dad had when I was three!

I have it! It is rough around the edges, but cool! Dad had this car from '81 to '85, and nicknamed it the Pontius. I just got this car for a good price from my little brother, who needed quick cash for an unbelievable deal on a 68,000 mile original '62 Grand Prix.

My brother had nabbed this '60 for pennies from a gentleman in a nearby town, about three years ago. It is amazing to have the car dad had when I was so little. Dad had hundreds of old cars in his lifetime, and Pontiac's were the favorite. I miss him!

The 60s are definitely sweet! Do you have pics from when your dad had it?

I only have the ad for when he sold it around '85... I do have access to a picture of him standing next to his first '60 he had in high school. I'll try to find it.

Cool story and a good looking car. Is it a stick?

Brown is the new black. Great color that will really set off the interior, great score and glad to see it home in good hands.

It is an automatic. My dad had one of these in high school, and many years (and Pontiac's later) found this one at Rawling's Auto Wrecking in Orem, Utah, on Geneva Road. It was right out front on blocks, with a new metallic brown paint job. The owner was frustrated with the blown motor and left it there after removing the wheels. Dad bought it there and another '60 389 2bbl motor from them, drug it home and got it running. He also removed the front seat and installed '62 bucket seats. All of this was around '79-'81. He then sold it to pay the bills in '87.
I was given many rides in this car, which I barely remember. Dad would let my uncles drive it (mom's high school brothers) and they would take me for "high speed runs" on the old highway to Spanish Fork or up to Provo. I was born in '78, and I believe I was four or five when I can actually remember cruising in the "Pontius". Dad had nicknamed it Pontius Pilate...he always would name thinks with funny or off-the-wall words that sounded somehow similar.
